Ragi Dosa (Finger millet) - Easiest Recipe



It is always good to choose the whole grains instead of flour. Here comes the Ragi dosa which is prepared using whole Ragi seeds. As we all know Ragi is the healthiest food and it is full of calcium.This is a Fermented food which is easily digestive problems stable to younger babies and tummy full food for kids


  • 1 cup Ragi Seeds

  • 1 cup Urad Dal

  • 1 cup Idli Rice

  • 1 teaspoon fenugreek seeds

  • Water

  • Salt

  • Oil

  • Ghee optional


  • Take equal amounts of Ragi, Urad dal and Idli Rice and wash it in water 2-3 times and soak it for 6-7 hours

  • Drain out the soaked water and blend all the three in a mixer with less water.

  • Pour the mixture into a vessel and mix it with your hands.

  • Let the batter be thick, now close the vessel and keep it for fermentation at warm place

  • It will take around 5-6 hours to ferment, once done mix the batter and add little water and salt as per taste

  • Add oil to the pan, once hot pour the batter into the pan to make the dosa.

  • You can add Ghee on the top to enhance the taste.

  • Once it becomes golden crisp on one side take out and serve hot with chutney
